As a large tourist destination, Disney and other Florida theme parks generate large crowds, prime for spreading the novel coronavirus. Amidst the outbreak, all actions should be taken to reduce large gatherings. At the forefront of this for Florida is our theme parks. With an extreme amount of travel being brought through the parks, they should be closed to ensure cases cannot easily spread there.

While this may be impactful for families and vacationers alike, in the middle of this public health crisis, it is necessary to pull out all the stops to mitigate risk and spread. Various tech companies have stood firm on paying employees during the outbreak and I see no reason why the theme parks would not be capable of this, especially without running their rides and attractions.

Please take heed and note of the actions of other large corporations during this time as it may be the only chance we have to prevent a larger than already occurred spread of the novel coronavirus.
