This is a petition to bring fan favourite Star Wars Expanded Universe Character Mara Jade. Depending on who you ask, Mara Jade is the most well known character in the Expanded Universe. Introduced in Heir to the Empire (the same book where Thrawn debuted), Mara originally served as the Emperor’s Hand, one of his best special agents. After the Battle of Endor, when she came across Luke Skyalker, she tried to kill him both out of loyalty to the Emperor and because of a mental command he left her before he died. Luke was able to help her break free of this control, and, while helping her hone her Force abilities in later books, they fell in love and eventually married. She was later killed by her nephew, Jacen Solo, in the "Legacy of the Force" book Sacrifice. A few weeks ago, it was confirmed that Grand Admiral Thrawn, arguably the EU’s greatest antagonist, will make his official canon debut in the Disney XD series Star Wars Rebels. While it has been confirmed, it does open the possibility of reintroducing these EU characters into the main canon. Obviously all these people would need adjustments in order to not only fit the new timeline, but whatever projects they appear in, they’d be great additions from the old continuity. Let the following folks live on in this brave new Star Wars world. There's a popular fan theory that Rey the main character of the The Force Awakens could be the daughter of Luke Skywalker and that would be another great way to bring Mara Jade into the new canon. Mara Jade appearing in the sequel trilogy as Luke Skywalker's Wife, In Rebels as the emperors hand, and with books in the new canon would tie it all together from emperors hand to Luke's wife. We haven't heard much on what Luke Skywalker did in the years between Return Of The Jedi and The Force Awakens besides he started A New Jedi Order which did happen in the old expanded universe and I could see them using the story about Luke Skywalker getting married to Mara Jade. Since We Have Thrawn canon again, With Kylo Ren they took Ben Skywalker & Jacen Solo/Darth Caedus to make Ben Solo/Kylo Ren, Kanan Jarrus is a cross of Kyle Katarn & Rahm Kota,Starkiller base has things similar to the suncrusher, and Rey is pretty much Jaina Solo of the new canon. So why not "BRING MARA JADE BACK INTO STAR WARS CANON."
