Make Carrie Fisher a Disney Legend

Upon the recent passing of Carrie Fisher, the iconic actress who portrayed Princess Leia Organa/General Leia Organa Solo in the Star Wars films now referred to as Star Wars IV-VIII, there has been much discussion about a proper way to honor the actress and the character.
The best way I can think of to honor Ms. Fisher's legacy (and not necessarily just the Princess, who she would say she just happened to look like) is to induct her into Disney Legends.
According to Wikipedia, "[t]he Disney Legends Awards is a hall of fame program that recognizes individuals who have made an extraordinary and integral contribution to The Walt Disney Company." Since Star Wars and LucasFilm were acquired by Disney, George Lucas, as the creator of the franchise, has already been granted this honor. It is therefore fitting, appropriate, and a meaningful tribute to Ms. Fisher to induct her into this elite company.
There are also petitions to honor the character by making her an official Disney Princess. I have supported those petitions on behalf of the character.
But this petition is a separate and necessary step to honor the actress, not just the character. In her written works, Ms. Fisher recognized that she will be forever linked to the teenager in the hair buns, but she, the actor, must stand out as the person she was, not just the character she played.
Therefore, I request that the Walt Disney Company recognize the contributions of Carrie Fisher by inducting her into the Disney Legends Hall of Fame.
