West Coast Eagles - to cut down 98 mature trees at Lathlain Park - HELP US STOP THEM
The issue
West Coast Eagles along with the Wirrpanda Foundation plan to cut down 98 mature trees from Lathlain Park despite no final development plan for their new "nest". Their application to cut down every tree within their leased zone - which is 40 per cent of Lathlain Park's overall tree canopy has been approved. The loss of all the trees on the south side of Lathlain Park will severely impact local residence, not to mention the almost extinct Baudinii's, endangered carnaby's and forest red-tailed black cockatoos known to roost at the site. We want the lease and building plans to be renegotiated to suite the wider community and the native flora and fauna of the area.
