Since 2014 residents from 100 Terrace Ave have requested for a PERMANENT POLICE BOOTH and increased police presence ( walking beats continuous patrol enforcing curfew) on this block! Terrace is a block within Hempstead notoriously known for Drugs, Violence and NUMEROUS MURDERS! The Time has come for Hempstead to STOP THE CONTINUED KILLINGS AND CRIME ON TERRACE!  On October 5, 2020 at 11:30 in THE MORNING a person was BRUTALLY MURDERED! Sadly this is NOT the FIRST murder on Terrace Ave and UNLESS WE TAKE DRASTIC, PREVENTIVE STEPS NOW this won’t be THE LAST! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH HEMPSTEAD! I’m asking that we share this petition and also write letters to the Village DEMANDING THE PERMANENT POLICE NOOTHS so that the Children and residents of Terrace Ave don’t have to be scared to take simple liberties that are afforded to all like ;checking the mail or going to pick up your child on Christmas Day, Don’t turn into murders or Shootings in broad DAYLIGHT! We’re asking that Booths be placed on both ends of the block ( Jackson St and Atlantic Ave) as well as increased Police presence! We’re also asking for Police/Community relation improvements as well!  TODAY it’s someone Else’s Child and Family member killed senselessly. WILL YOU WAIT TILL ITS YOUR CHILD, YOUR LOVED ONE, to make A change HAPPEN??? OR WILL YOU STAND UP TO DO SOMETHING TO END THE VIOLENCE IN OUR COMMUNITIES?
