Add nasal irritant to glue to stop kids from inhaling their products

There are 150 million children who live and work on the streets of our world (for more information about street children check untilthen.org). Many of them use inhalants to dull their hunger and ease the pain of their difficult lives. The adhesives industry can add a nasal irritant to their adhesives formula which would prevent children from inhaling their products. This simple formula change would save millions of lives while not changing the efficacy of their products.

There are 150 million children who live and work on the streets of our world. 150 million is roughly equivalent to half the population of the United States of America. Many of these children use inhalants to dull their hunger and ease the pain of their difficult lives. These inhalants don't just numb the children's pain, but because the glue is a neurotoxin, it also leads to acute renal failure and death.

Corporate leaders in the adhesive industry have the chance to set a new ethical standard by adding an inexpensive nasal irritant (such as oil of mustard) to their adhesives formula which would prevent children from inhaling their products. This simple formula change would save millions of lives while not changing the efficacy of their products. We are asking that as industry leaders, you initiate the changes necessary that will save the lives of countless children around the world.

Thank you for your time and consideration of this petition.

Sincerely,
