USDA, is time to enforce the endangered animals protection laws

The Animal Welfare Act protects animals kept at zoos, it directs the Secretary of the USDA to set minimum standards regarding these animals' handling, care, treatment, and transportation.
We demand the inmmediate relocation of all animals located in Dr. Juan A. Rivero Zoo located in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. The USDA revoked the zoo permits since 2018 because of repeated violations to the Endangered Species Act (ESA). All animals are suffering due to inadequate veterinary care, safe food, and lack of adequate shelters. The USDA inspection reports has documented chronic violations to the ESA. Numerous members of threatened and endangered species have died due to the poor conditions.
