In light of the GCE A Levels that is taking place currently I have decided to raise a few concerns that needs to be changed. 

Firstly, in a hall full of English medium students the invigilators only speak in sinhala. People who cannot understand the language are not aware of the instructions and are not sure what time the exams start and end as everything is informed in sinhala. In my case, I lost time during my exam as an invigilator came and asked me why I didn't fill in the details at the back when she informed earlier even though she had spoke in sinhala and when I made it clear I could not speak sinhala she still continued to speak in sinhala.

Secondly, an examination centre is supposed to have a clock in the hall so students understand how much time they have as not everyone has an appropriate watch to bring. I wasn't aware of how much time I had left since everything was told in sinhala and there was no clock and I unfortunately did not bring a watch. 

Thirdly, it's unprofessional of the invigilators to give the papers after the time starts because as soon as the paper is given students start working on it however there are students at the other end of the class who are still waiting to get their paper. This gives those who got the papers first a time advantage. 

As someone who has done exams both abroad and in Sri Lanka I have never come across this level of unprofessionalism and I believe this needs to change.
