The University of Melbourne is terminating the Associate Degree in Urban Horticulture, the undergraduate qualification offered at the world-renowned Burnley campus. The University has not announced any plan to replace the course with an alternative undergraduate degree.
Burnley is an iconic, world-leading centre for horticultural education with a long and important history. It is the ideal location for horticultural studies, with its spectacular botanic garden curated for the purpose of teaching and its extensive field station designed for the demonstration of best horticultural practice.
As the climate changes, cities becomes denser and green space is limited, its is imperative that Australia has skilled graduates equipped to design and manage public and private landscapes in a sustainable way.
Undergraduate education must continue at Burnley. #saveBurnley #handsofftheADUH
