Please note the following motion passed by staff based at the Scarborough campus: (We) note the transfer of ownership of the Scarborough campus to the Grimsby Institute and deplore the lack of transparency and meaningful consultation. We declare that we have no confidence in the Vice Chancellor due to his abject failure to lead the campus during the period of transition and the failure in his duty of care to his employees. Staff at Scarborough feel that the settlement offer is woefully inadequate and lacks fairness and transparency. In the light of the failure of the University to respond satisfactorily to our concerns, we call on the trade unions to initiate a ballot for industrial action. Accordingly the campus trade unions have each lodged formal trade disputes with the University. We ask members of staff across the University to show support to their colleagues in Scarborough by signing this petition.
