Given current times, and civil unrest following the death of George Floyd, we have seen many cases of police brutality and its effects on the Black community. The National Pan-Hellenic Council of the University of Houston has started this petition to allow the University of Houston to be a trailblazer in the fight against systemic racism. We experience physical and social overpolicing at our social events, and are forced to pay for police out of pocket. Sign this petition to help the Black community at the University of Houston finally achieve a true feeling of safety and belonging on its campus.
