Vote of no confidence:Make way for a government that has a sensible plan of action.

The Issue

The current government has had and seems to have little in place to deal with the fallout from the impact of the corona-virus. People are not being protected in terms of physical or mental health or in terms of financial security. We need a proactive government that will actually protect the population and act in the best interests of all its citizens, and not just the 'boys club'.

All aspects of health are being affected, and the NHS is and will struggle to cope. If people lose basic income, this will only get worse, in every way.

We need action now!

A vote of no confidence in the current administration would open the doors for a new, more effective government, who would act in a far more socially responsible manner.  If this turns out to be a coalition or crisis management government, so much the better. Rational voices would have the opportunity to be heard.

Why are there no financial support plans for those on zero hours contracts or who are self-employed, or those who are losing their jobs due to the impact of the corona-virus, as there are in other countries?

These are questions the current 'government' is NOT answering and this is a matter of urgency. In order for people to feel able to stay at home, self-isolate, and help to keep the wider population as healthy as possible, people need to know that they won't lose their house and can afford to keep the heating on and feed their families. It is the responsibility of the government to ensure that this is the case, and they are doing NOTHING in this regard. Perhaps they think we all still have large savings accounts after 10 years of austerity? If so, they need to be told how wrong they are!
