As a result of our depletion of ecosystems, such as woodlands, wild life areas, and our continued use of fossil fuels we in the UK are contributing to climate change: scientists are warning that global temperatures could rise to four degrees centegrade by the end of this century and it could be more than that: scientists have just discovered that methane gas is escaping from cracks in the arctic ice: methane is 70 times more powerful than C02 in trapping global radiation. We need to ensure that our government acts responsibly now to ensure that the lives of future generations are protected by creating a sustainable economy where surivival of people and planet is valued above the pursuit of profit.
