I am proposing that the government put a a system in place for families to be able to see their loved ones in care homes. We would like a plastic shelter or a separate room that is properly disinfected between each visit, I understand this won’t be simple and there will need to be a lot of planning in place but what is absolutely certain is these people need the comfort of family members. We don’t have all the answers, what we have is the questions to the people who are supposed to provide the answers.

Carers and care home workers are in and out of the homes every day and living under the same restrictions as us in-between, Care homes are admitted coronavirus patients into the homes with our loves ones yet will not allow families to be there to comfort their loves ones who feel abandoned and confused in care homes.

Unbelievable amounts of money has been thrown about by the government into systems for coronavirus that have not come to pass we believe our loved ones are worthy of money being invested into a safe system that makes the last weeks/months/years of their lives bearable. Carers do a wonderful job but these people need people they know to be family near them, they need to be granted the right to remember who their families are, they have no idea why their family has been ripped away from them, they feel abandoned and lonely and they have become shadows of who they were before lockdown.
