We all watched with horror, disgust, shame, embarrassment, and fury yesterday as Donald Trump and JD Vance sided with Vladimir Putin over Ukraine in front of the entire world. They both attempted to strong arm Ukraine’s President Zelensky into compromising with Putin. With his temper tantrum yesterday, Donald not only destroyed America’s reputation as a world leader, he laid the groundwork for something he’s been planning for years. He wants to withdraw the United States from NATO.

While I believe NATO would be able to continue without America as a member, I will not pretend that America would ever be  truly strong or safe from attacks from Russia and other foreign adversaries if we were withdrawn from NATO. 

Russia will never stop its aggressions against Ukraine, Europe, or the world as a whole, if it is not met with continued resistance from all nations as a united front. By siding with Russia on a world stage, Donald and JD have proven without a doubt the direction in which they wish to steer not only America, but the rest of the world, if they can.

That is why we must call on congress to formally condemn Donald and JD by both publicly and formally committing to stand with Ukraine and affirm our continued membership in NATO.
