I am a small inventor, and the main problem that I, as well as countless other inventors, have run into is the lack of funds. As a young inventor, I need access to materials that are sometimes costly. While I am able to get many of the materials, the effect on my budget is greater than the reward. Also, as a college student, it is already hard to make money that won't be spent on textbooks, classes, etc.
This petition, if passed, will help aid small inventors by giving them money to aid their research, experiments, etc. The money granted can be in $1000 amounts, not to limit $100,000 per inventor. While this may seem like a lot, the national budget deals with $1,000,000,000,000s (trillions) of dollars a day.
The requirements for the inventor are as follows:
1) The invention may not be a Weapon of Mass Destruction, without specific permission from the U.S. government and military.
2) The inventor has to be a United States citizen for at least five years previous.
3) The inventor has to be at least 18 years of age, or in the case of permission from guardian, at least 13 years of age.
4) Of any money granted to the inventor, at least 75% has to go directly toward the advancement of research or experimentation.
