Tumblr's recent ban on NSFW content is a knee-jerk reaction to an ongoing problem. However, they do not seem to understand the problem- the issue is with the bots, not the blogs.

This decision can and will put an end to the livelihoods of many on tumblr- artists, writers, creators, sex workers. Rather than doing their jobs and monitoring and removing the bots, they are instead punishing the people who had no part in the problem in the first place. For some, their only following is on Tumblr, and rebuilding it will take precious time without a steady income.

We need to tell the Tumblr staff that this is NOT OKAY, and that this is not the way to solve their problem.
