🚕The truth is, I didn’t stop serving my community driving cabs because I wanted to.🚕

The issue

A personal campaign for choice, fairness, and the right to work

In regional towns like Warwick, drivers have no real choice when it comes to operating as a taxi driver. There is currently only one taxi operator licence, meaning all drivers must work under the same authority — regardless of whether they feel safe, supported, or respected in that environment.

After stepping back from my own role as a taxi driver due to personal and workplace challenges, I assumed I could simply continue driving under another provider or independently. But I quickly discovered:

➡️ There is no pathway to work elsewhere

➡️ No alternative licence to operate under

➡️ No option to drive for myself

This campaign is not about targeting any individual. It’s about exposing a system that leaves workers — particularly women — without choices, without independence, and without protection if they ever speak up or step away.

Nobody should be shut out of earning a living because there’s only one door — and it’s locked.

Warwick deserves a review of the current licensing model, and drivers deserve more than one option.
