12 months ago this week there was a horrendous fire at Manchester Dogs Home resulting in many dogs losing their lives and the kennels suffering extensive damage. Thanks to the generosity of the public over £1million was raised with the intention of rebuilding the home to give a better future for the dogs. However, having visited the home today I was extremely disappointed in the state of the home. The section that was badly damaged appears to be just wasteland and it seems that no building work has even started. I am sure that most people would be massively disappointed that their donations have yet to be put to good use 1 year on. The staff continue to do a brilliant job but must be dishearted by the lack of progress. The money is in place so why hasn't work started?
