Small steps lead to big changes always

My community has no bylaw against hate speech or symbols. It has no bylaw against the 7 flags listed as hateful within our country. It has no bylaw against hateful propaganda in the form of posters, signs, stickers or flags.

Other communities in our province have distinct bylaws protecting its minority or religious citizens against hate speech and symbols. How does my town not? THIS why these flags fly. This is how indoctrination happens. We have protocol in our Federal Freedom of Speech to protect people against hate speech and symbolism. Yet my community has NOT acted on it. How did they miss it? Why have they not acted?

This is for the children of our future. This is for the MANY children who visit our community.
Together we are doing this for our Black children, First Nations children, Brown children, LGBTQ+ children: all of our beautiful, colourful children. It is also for our white children. I say this because, having visible hate symbols in a community is a form of indoctrination into believing it ok.
It is NOT ok. All children know it is NOT ok, but become accustomed to it. They should not have to. Let's help our children and then theirs to have a better world than we did.

Please help me reach 10,000 signatures by signing and sharing. 10,000 is the equivalent to roughly half the population of my community. If my community steps up, maybe others will too. Small steps lead to big changes always.
