Thank you from our kids

I just want to take a moment to talk about my son. He was the reason I decided to stand up. He has concerns - we all have concerns about black/brown children who grow to be men and women. I showed him these numbers tonight and he literally jumped for joy. He couldn't believe that so many would raise their voices with us. This is for the black children, our First Nations children, all our colourful children. But it is also for white children. Children all know racism isn't normal. It is taught. Indoctrination by simply being around racist symbols needs to stop. My son looked at me today with tears of joy and said "This really might happen! We are making a change!" He is 7. Small steps from everyone everywhere, on whatever path they are walking can and WILL affect change, if not for us; for our children or their children. Thank you for helping us all to take a stand and rise against hateful symbols and hatred.
