This Pug bug was given a max of several more months to live by his surgeon who’d performed cervical spine surgery due to DM/IVDD. That was 2 years ago. Regular massage therapy sessions (along with nutrition guidance) have helped this boy go from looking so bad I googled ‘longevity of a Pug’ after our first session to seeing him off the Gabapentin, getting the spark of joy back with his human sharing video of this boy playing once again  with toys after years of barely moving. At 14, he’s back to his bossy self, can lay in any position he wants to sleep. Prior to therapy, Winston could only lay in one position, he hurt too badly to stretch out. He also sleeps through the night, no longer limps, actually runs after squirrels and has re-established himself as pack leader at home. His nose is no longer crusted over and he cocks his head with interest in his surroundings.  His IVDD is in remission/no sign of further progression….2 years later! Many times we see holistic therapy mitigate the need for surgery, prevent continued painful progression of spinal/ neurological disease, gastrointestinal issues, arthritis, as it enhances longevity and quality of life giving people and their animal companions more time together. Winston is shown here getting some vibration therapy with Himalayan hot stones.
