Repeal Texas's "no pass/no play" law

The Issue

Texas's "no pass/no play" law is a law that restricts students from participating in extracurricular activities if they fail a class. This is structured to punish students and does not help a student's academic success. The law prevents hardworking students from participating in what they are passionate about just because of their grades that they might be trying to fix but can't. I was barred from performing in a play that I spent months rehearsing and working hard to do. That play was my passion and now it was taken away from me simply because a teacher didn't want to put in grades. If we get the Texas Legislative Council's attention, we can get them to look at this law and possibly repeal it.
