The Israeli police have announced that a Muslim holiday will take precedence over Rosh Hashana and the Temple Mount will be closed to Jerusalem. Moreover, the Temple Mount will also be closed for the holiest of all days Yom Kippur next Shabbat. The United Temple Mount Movement expressed its dismay and outrage. On a positive note, over 22,179 Jews will have ascended the Temple Mount in the Hebrew year 5777 (Sunday, 2 October 2016- September 19th 2017) with hundreds more expected to ascend tomorrow morning. Not since the destruction of the Temple 1,948 years ago has the Mount seen so many of her people ascend to her.
