Just want to give an update to explain the situation a bit better.
First of all just a bit of context: in an ib school there are two diplomas which you receive at the same time, the high school diploma & the IB diploma.
so basically IB exams have been cancelled world wide, with this news most schools have decided to base the student grade on there predicted grades and the IA grades. But NIS has decided to give us students multiple high school exams for each subject, which us NIS student are ok with, because it is needed to receive the high school diploma. But what we are not ok with is that NIS has decided to make the high school diploma exams affect our IB diploma final grade. We believe that this is completely unethical and unfair, as the new exam will be graded by our teachers of 2-years who know us very well and will grade our exams with a bias.
These are some of the many questions we have to truly reflect how we feel on this situation:
1) Is it ethical to make g12's go though unnecessary stress?
2) Is fair to have different conditions for different schools?
3) Will may exams reflect my standard of work?
4) May exam cancellation is based on the advice on students? So why are they not heard in NIS?
5) Is it safe with the virus still around, to be back in school in tightly packed exam halls?
