Lunenburg Graduation 2020
Lunenburg Graduation 2020
The Issue
The Lunenburg Class of 2020 would rather not have a drive-through graduation. However, we're looking to hold off graduation until a later date, sometime in July or early August if possible. We'd rather have in-person graduation with all the health precautions set in place met (chairs six feet apart, no shaking of hands, face masks, possibly only 1-2 guests per senior). The Class of 2020 wishes to have a graduation that is as close to normal as all the decades before them. They want to hear the speeches that their valedictorian, president, and class officers wish to present. For some of these students, it will be the last time they see a majority of their high school peers again. This class has been looking forward to their graduation for years, they would much rather wait until they can see everyone together than have a drive-through graduation.
However, if the ban isn't lifted by July or early August, the Class of 2020 would be perfectly fine with a drive-through graduation, seeing as it would be a health hazard.
