Borneo boasts of being one of the oldest rainforests in the world - 140 million years old. It has the most diverse flora and fauna in the world. Orangutans and many other species are being decimated. Orangutans have lost 80% of their natural habitat due to palm oil in the last 20 years. 

I have been fortunate to have got up close and personal to these magnificent creatures. Twenty-four years ago, I worked in the Borneo jungle for a short time with a group of people, and even back then I saw the devastating effects of what mining had done in that country. We all have a responsibility to act on what we see unfolding before our eyes. We can change it just through being more conscientious about what we buy. We do have the power to change things, we just need to believe it.
