Guernsey people say NO to GST (Goods & Services tax)

The Issue

Policy & Resources of the SoG have presented  three proposals to the States for introducing either a 5% GST, an 8% GST, or a “health tax”, to supplement what they call a “lack of revenue” from an aging population.

This petition is to draw attention to the fact that the people of Guernsey do not feel these three options are fair, and are proven to hit the regular working class members of our society hardest

We would therefore like this to be scrapped, and for the States of Guernsey government to stop wasting & overspending money year after year.

And if absolutely necessary for other taxation options to be explored, such as higher corporate taxes, or a more proportionate tax system that makes the wealthy members of our society pay a fairer amount.
