A few days ago a couple found a baby bear cub along the side of the road in Virginia. The cub was perfectly healthy, however wildlife officials decided to euthanize the cub. According to the couple the bear whimpered and then fell asleep probably feeling that it had found a safe place. To me this is heartbreaking that no one in the Virginia Department of Wildlife took the time to find a place for this little guy.

This is important because no one bothered to try and find a place to raise this cub. There was a place for it in Tennessee but the state of Virginia didn't feel comfortable turning the cub over to this organization because of a change in leadership. Ever since I heard about this it has bothered me very much and something must be done to challenge this egregious lapse in judgement. Thiose responsible should face charges of animal cruelty.
