Save Pets from Hot Cars Legally Break Windows

The Issue

We've seen it either in person, or on the news. Pets left in Hot cars. The current South Carolina State Law Prohibits breaking a window to rescue a dog (or pet) in distress. You must currently call 911, and wait for the police to arrive.

Sometimes there isn't time to waste, and an animal could die.

We, as concerned citizens, should be lawfully permitted, once 911 is called, to break the window of a vehicle to save an animal in distress.

Currently only 24 states have statutes that either prohibit leaving an animal in confined vehicle or provide civil immunity (protection from being sued) for a person who rescues an animal from a vehicle under certain conditions.

I've had the discussion with people on many occasions, and asked them to spend time in their Hot car with the window cracked. They tend to respond with something like "he's fine, it was only a few minutes"

Hundreds of Animals die from this every year from this. We as Concerned Citizens should have the Right to save them by any means necessary

An Excellent article about the Dangers, and Facts....
