Dear United States Government and Elected Officials,

We, the undersigned doctors, healthcare workers and concerned citizens, write this urgent appeal on behalf of countless concerned professionals who are deeply troubled by the ongoing genocide being committed against the civilian population of Gaza and West Bank by Israel. We implore you and the United States government to immediately cease complicity and enablement of this genocide, which has already claimed the lives of over 25,000 civilians, including more than 12,000 children along with the forced displacement and intentional starvation of 2.3 million civilians. 

We commend the government of South Africa for invoking the genocide convention on December 28 and referring the matter to the International Court of Justice, urging them to issue an immediate injunction to halt these ongoing crimes. We demand that the United States government follows suit and takes immediate action to stop its funding of this genocide, cease the provision of weapons that contribute to further crimes, and end its political cover of these heinous acts.

As doctors and healthcare workers, our duty is to protect and preserve human life. We have witnessed the devastating consequences of this genocide on innocent civilians, including women, children, and the elderly. The destruction of hospitals, medical facilities, and essential infrastructure has severely hindered the provision of healthcare services, exacerbating the suffering of the people of Gaza.

It is with utmost urgency that we appeal to you, as representatives of the United States government, to:

1. Immediately halt all financial support and funding to the Israeli government that directly or indirectly contributes to the ongoing genocide in Gaza. The United States must take a principled stance against these crimes and ensure that its actions align with its commitment to human rights and the preservation of life.

2. Cease the provision of weapons to Israel immediately, as continued arms sales only serve to perpetuate and escalate the genocide against innocent civilians. The United States must not be complicit in the loss of more lives and the destruction of communities.

3. Withdraw all political support and cover for the Israeli government's actions. The United States must use its influence and diplomatic channels to advocate for an immediate end to the genocide and support efforts to find a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict according all applicable international laws and agreements. 

4. Demand immediate permanent and unconditional ceasefire to allow the provision of an immediate unlimited humanitarian aid to the besieged, displaced and butchered population of Gaza.

5. Help us deploy and setup multiple American field hospitals to make up for some of our policy failings and to try to help and save lives of the thousands of injured children and civilians. 

Let this serve as a conscientious call and notice to all government and elected officials, their staff, and their employees to immediately stop their complicity in this genocide. The case is now being brought before the International Court of Justice, and it is crucial that all individuals within the United States government distance themselves from these crimes. Failure to do so will result in being considered partners in this ongoing atrocity and genocide.

The souls of the 12000 murdered children are screaming at you and at humanity. The time to act is NOW!
We implore you to heed this appeal and take immediate action to end the suffering and loss of life or resign. Complicity in genocide is a legacy that will hunt you on the official and individual levels forever!

We also encourage all those who sign and support this petition to follow that by reaching out further to their elected officials and representatives by all means possible on urgent bases to try to save as many lives as possible!
