Greensboro is in need of a safe and sanitary place for its homeless community.

As we know there are shelters, they are not often able to shelter. And too many are sleeping on the streets, under awnings, on the sidewalks, under bridges, in the woods, in parking lots, in bus stops, in camping tents, in the libraries, on the buses, in their vehicles, in the depot, at train station, in doorways, in corridors, in abandoned houses and abandoned buildings.

Homeless, Domestic Violence,  Evictions, LGBT, (For all our Care)

We need to give them somewhere to go! (With our best Care) 

 

This petition will present evidence that all have been a witness. That now, we give the city permission to be a salvation for those who have proven they cannot save themselves.

 

To the City: Build or acquire a building(s) to sleep, at a minimum, 100 people (50 Bunk beds), expandable to 300. The building will need: Power/AC, Wi-Fi, Water and Safety. No offices, storage, or additional rooms.

To any Supporters: Know, your signature is gracious, however 3 steps further.

3. Express your support. Share that homelessness affects us all. Tell your story (of yourself or of another). Tell them if you can speak on behalf of another, as well. ie  Your family, friend or one now passed away.   

 

This is at Please and Pleeeaaaase! : The city lost our overnight shelter nearly 2 years ago. How can people move forward if we live with our oppressors? ... That is, addictions, theft, overwhelming summers and winters, ridicule, and a great apathy. 

We feel that we are seen but not seen as important.
