Urge the Scottish Government to urge Glasgow City Council (Labour) to allow the erecting of a statue of Scottish Patriot Sir William Wallace - protector of Scotland.

The Issue

The Society Of William Wallace has already commissioned a work to commemorate the Battle of the Bell o' the Brae on a steep slope where High Street and Rottenrow meet. The battle is believed to have happened about 1300.

Members, who have already spent about £1200 on the project, heard of the decision in a letter from Stevie Scott, the city parks and open spaces manager.

Labour and Glasgow City Council are a disgrace they reject a statue of a Scottish Patriot and protector Sir William Wallace being erected in Glasgow to commemorate the Battle of the Bell o' the Brae on a steep slope where High Street and Rottenrow meet. The battle is believed to have happened about 1300. But they have no problem with The Duke of Wellington who has sod all to do with Glasgow or Scotland albeit with a cone on his head in Glasgow.
