While a lot has been done to revive Scots Gaelic recently much of this has been focused on heritage and past culture (e.g. the stream of BBC ALBA programs on sheep, crofts and fishing). While heritage is important we feel Scots Gaelic will not survive if it is not seen as part of the 21st century world. We feel a good way to start this would be for the Scottish Parliament to work with ICANN to create a dot alba top level domain (TLD) That is the bit you stick on the end of your website address (e.g. www.website.alba) We feel that having a TLD specifically for Scots Gaelic would encourage the use of Scots Gaelic on the web. And it would be instantly recognisable as a Gaelic website.
