Very many thanks for supporting our campaign to save the Meadow and Children's Wood - this petition and your signature on it were instrumental in prompting Scottish Government to write to Glasgow City Council requiring it to send all details of their decision-making process to the Government if it (eventually) decides to grant planning permission. The Meadow and Wood are NOT saved yet, however - no decision has yet been made on the live applications concerning the land. I’m writing about Glasgow City Council’s intention to zone the Meadow and Wood as HOUSING LAND instead of GREEN SPACE. This decision is separate from any particular planning application, and concerns the proposal for City Plan 3, due to come into force next year. The Council has responded negatively to significant local opposition at the consultation phase, making no change to its proposals. Because our concerns have not been resolved, the matter has been referred to an independent Reporter, Timothy Brian, appointed by Scottish Government, who will make the final decision. We have started a new petition, directed to Mr Brian, specifically in support of our argument against the Council’s own argument for making no changes to its plans - to ensure that he is aware of the strength of feeling.
