The Greenock Telegraph's petition is in direct response to the public outcry following the Crown Office's statement that they are unable to prosecute the suspect involved in the killing of defenceless animals at the Pets' Corner mini zoo in Inverclyde. The person was identified by a DNA match, yet a six month time-bar on the section of the Act he would have been prosecuted under meant no action could be taken to bring them to court.
