The matter of allowing bags and backpacks in our schools has come under a lot of fire recently as pushes for greater security have been brought onto the scene. Parents, most notably, are requesting that something must be done about their kids' safety in district schools. However, the restriction of backpacks is nothing more than a hollow attempt at a fix. It needlessly strips away student freedoms, and reduces convenience during the day. By signing this petition you are showing your support for a more substantial policy regarding your own, or your kid's, safety.
