Establish a school-wide STEM high school based on The STEM Academy at Bartlett model.

The Issue

I support the establishment of a dedicated, school-wide STEM 9-12 high school program based on The STEM Academy at Bartlett model. This model includes:

  • accelerated curriculum that uses the engineering and design process to strive for innovation and improvement in every content area
  • authentic opportunities for students to work with community partners in solving real-world problems
  • interdisciplinary and cross-curricular collaboration across all grade levels and courses
  • an environment where students engage in Problem-Based Learning, take risks, receive constructive feedback, and gain skills necessary for creative problem-solving and standards-based learning
  • freedom for students to engage in research areas of interest through dedicated research courses
  • environment where teachers are encouraged to be innovative with curriculum and instruction
  • 1:1 technology for all students

Please contact your Savannah-Chatham County Board of Education Representative to tell them that you would like to see a STEM high school program.
