Petition updateIt’s time to #FixStreaming and keep music aliveEveryone’s talking about streaming
Keep Music Alive
30 Jul 2020

Since musicians started talking about fixing streaming, everyone has got in on the act – including politicians.

Now we’re closer to a Government review of streaming than ever, as the cross-party Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee calls on Government to investigate streaming.

MPs on the committee want the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport to, “Investigate how the market for recorded music is operating in the era of streaming to ensure that music creators are receiving a fair reward.”

We’re also a step closer to user-centric as it becomes Labour Party policy. Shadow Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Jo Stevens recently told BBC 5 Live "The Labour Party position is that we support this. Why should it be any different for musicians than it is for any other professional trade?”

Take action now!

Ask four friends to sign the petition right now. It’s easy – just forward them this message.

If everyone reading this asks four friends to sign the petition today, we could get to 75,000 signatures overnight. The more people who sign the petition to #FixStreaming and keep music alive, the stronger our collective call.

And if you’ve got this from a friend, you can sign the #fixstreaming petition right here.
