£5 coins are the UK's flagship coin.  But since 2012, the Royal Mint has stopped offering them at face value.  Instead you have to pay £13 for a new £5 coin.

We believe that £5 coins should be available to the general public at face value via banks, post offices and coin distributors and not just from the Royal Mint for £13.
