Open Letter to the Houston Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) detatchment,Taylor Bachrach MP, John Rustad MLA, Dwayne McDonald Deputy Commissioner Of the RCMP,  Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner, BC Civil Liberties Association,Marco Mendicino Minister of Public Safety, David Eby Attorney General,  BC RCMP E Division Community Industry Response Group (CIRG) Miss/Mr Sgt Charney

Re: RCMP on Wetsuweten Territory harassing wetsuweten 

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)& Community Industry Response Group (CIRG) are protecting the contentious Coastal Gas Link ( CGL) project currently underway in northern bc on wetsuweten territory. They have NO authority to use taxpayer $ to protect a foreign project & harass wetsuweten opposting this on wetsuweten land.

CIRG RCMP takes pride in bowing down, like peasants, to industry for retirement $ to harass wetsuweten. 

The RCMP's poor history with wetsuweten & all natives includes:

* Destroying our ancestors homes & hauling them off to reservations THEN arresting them for leaving without permission. They ONLY know the indian act with the mentality we all live on reservations not paying taxes( the largest % of us dont live on a rez, pay taxes, have morgtages etc)

* Arrested our ancestors for going into licensed establishments until 1950& for having govt banned potlatches- our self governance, until 1951

* Forcefully took our ancestors to residential schools and foster homes

*Are implicated in the deaths of young natives, ie, my late cousin.How would they feel if this was their hockey sons?

*Failing to solve missing & murdered native women Per the "Vision 150 plan," the rcmp on our yinta evade,"... actions that benefit native communities, address the issues of MMIW, & reduce violence." Are their actions reflective of the RCMPS 1/26/2022 " Change in Action" of accountability? conduct? transparency? advancing reconciliation amongst natives? or, addressing systemic racism? Is having your members esp Sgt Charney dumping drinking water of land defenders respectful of YOUR core values? The very people assaulted by the rcmp are survivors of the notorious," Highway of Tears," & have family members who have been victims.

* Files of native sexual abuse victims dismissed

*Fail to heed the United Nations call of human rights violations

*ARE NOT PROFESSIONALS, having NO professional regulatory body to account to therefore act like crackheads to earn up to $100 /hr, allegedly what the rcmp is paid to harass wetsuweten ( a true professional earns more than that) use your earnings to go back to the countries of your unwanted criminal ancestors. *Have conditional regard only to compliant obedient wetsuweten- if your a good indian, we'll be nice. We are survivors of residential schools, the indian act, TB, etc. Many fear authority & dont question. The younger generation evolved & question & say NO

*Have called our women squaws, made reference of " not driving cars or having heated homes if they dont believe the pipeline. ( Kinda like they shouldnt drink fresh water if they dont believe land preservation) laughed& threatened them with chainsaws, assault weapons, & canines.( Charney, recognizable no badge  is evident with a creepy grin & alopecia) Are they afraid of unarmed wetsuweten women therefore require chainsaws, helicopters, assault artillery, & a canine unit to them? 

*Question wetsuweten people's existence on OUR LAND defeating delguumeaux which is recognized by your supreme court.

*Accused wetsuweten of destroying cgl equipment, a set up for insurance or a smear campaign. How can wetsuweten women go through rcmp security to destroy heavy equipment? 

*Struck a wetsuweten protester with a cruiser (???)

*Denied an elder of her medication? Im an RN of 30yrs in good standing in 2 provinces & 4 states, whitemans beloved taxpayer. I contend rcmp are sadistic, unprofessional enemies

*Why is a former female employee suing cgl for sexual battery? Where were the RCMP when THAT happened?

* Allegedly question Molly & Jens wetsuweten roots. Theyre my maternal side cousin's & granddaughters of late satsun, Paddy Issac. Why does the rcmp think they have authority to question our land defenders ethnicity? 

They need to fullfill wishes of wetsuweten & leave, We'll then:

*Aspire to train wetsuweten to apply laws traditionally oriented morseo than contemporary.An example is the Kahnawake peacekeepers who uphold the people NOT government- but the laws of the haudensaunee.
* Lobby to defund the RCMP, allocating funding to mental health & community based initiatives having them as paraprofessionals

*Ask that Sgt Charneys written record includes all his/her assaults against wetsuweten land/water defenders to ascertain he/she NEVER gets promoted to a higher position & will NEVER work amongst native people again- ever

*Ask for support in healing our nation through our traditional hereditary ways ( therefore NOT excluding off reservation wetsuweten). The wetsuweten nation is a tribal nation spanning from Burns Lake to Hazelton BC, NOT the indian act," wetsuweten nation,"reservation of 500 members.

*Ask for a formal apology from Sgt Charney & all rcmp members who have been abusive.THEN have an inquiry into their actions against land defenders 

These are my opinions, Cynthia George Taha, Im exercising my right as a wetsuweten woman & Section 2 of your Governments Charter of Rights. This letter is signed by wetsuweten land/water defenders incurring rcmp harassment. We are survivors
