We call on Greenwich Council to list the Woolwich Grand Theatre as an "Asset of Community Value" under the Localism Act 2011 and reject the planning application to demolish the building for housing.

We would also like the Council to work with the local community to find a way to fund the Woolwich Grand Theatre vision for its re-development as an arts hub for Woolwich and the surrounding area.

Woolwich has a lack of cinemas and large multi-purpose arts venues. If the proposed demolition and re-development as housing goes ahead one of the few remaining spaces that this can happen in will be lost.
