The Road To Cindy Lou
The Issue
Dear friends, family, fellow pet lovers, and cherished members of Critterville,
Imagine a soft, fluffy little gray-and-white British Shorthair with bright eyes, tiny paws, and a whole lot of personality. Meet Cindy Lou! The cat who has already captured my heart, despite the fact that she doesn’t technically live in our household yet.
I’m starting this petition for a very important cause: bringing Cindy Lou home. There is just one small obstacle standing in our way—my wonderful fiancé, Kevin, who has made it pretty clear that he is not a cat person.
Now, I love Kevin dearly, so this is absolutely NOT an attack on him. I simply believe he may have been misled about cats his entire life. Perhaps he hasn’t met the right one yet. Perhaps Cindy Lou is the cat who will finally show him the error of his ways. And perhaps Max deserves a little kitty sister. I’m just saying.
And let’s not forget the rest of the Critter household! Cindy Lou will have Max to keep her company, three goldfish to watch like her own personal aquarium television, and an entire community of Critters ready to welcome her with open arms. Honestly, what more could a cat ask for?
And if Kevin needs a little convincing, perhaps the numbers will help. According to the American Pet Products Association, 53 million U.S. households owned a cat in 2025—39% of all U.S. households. Cat ownership has been growing, and millions of people have discovered just how much companionship, comfort, and entertainment these little creatures can bring into a home.
Cats can provide companionship and comfort while still being relatively independent. They can be playful, affectionate, and wonderfully entertaining without requiring you to be their full-time personal assistant. And British Shorthairs are known for being particularly calm and easygoing, making them wonderful companions for people who may not consider themselves lifelong cat enthusiasts. Basically, Cindy Lou could be the perfect introduction to the wonderful world of cat ownership.
As the community behind my stream, the Critters have supported me through gaming, chaos, questionable decisions, and everything in between. So naturally, I am asking them to join me in what may be my most important campaign yet: The Road To Cindy Lou.
Cindy Lou could bring another little personality into our home, give Max a new friend, provide endless entertainment watching the goldfish, and—most importantly—give Kevin the opportunity to discover that he might secretly be a cat dad. I can already picture him saying, “I still don’t like cats,” while Cindy Lou is curled up beside him five minutes later.
But I also want to make one thing very clear: this is all in good fun. As much as I want Cindy Lou, being in a relationship and building a life together means respecting each other’s boundaries. Kevin is my entire world, and I respect him as my partner and future husband. I would never want a pet—or anything else—to come between us. If, after all is said and done, he truly does not want a cat in our home, then I will accept that. Because just as I have my own boundaries and things that matter to me, his boundaries matter too.
That being said…
I still want Cindy Lou. 🤣😂🤪
So, if you’ve ever loved a cat, laughed at a ridiculous cat video, or simply want to help a woman convince her fiancé that a fluffy British Shorthair is a perfectly reasonable addition to the family, please sign the petition.
This isn’t about bullying Kevin or forcing him into anything. It’s about having some fun, showing him that the Critters are behind Cindy Lou, and giving him a very official reminder that 53 million households can’t possibly be wrong.
Will it work? Who knows. Will I proudly present Kevin with the signature count? Absolutely. And if Kevin ultimately says no? Well… I guess Cindy Lou is going to live with my Nanny.
Let’s bring Cindy Lou home. 🐱🐾
