Subject: URGENT DEMAND FOR STRONGER ACTION AGAINST DRUG TRAFFICKING, DRUG ABUSE, CHILD KIDNAPPING AND CHILD TRAFFICKING IN PUNJAB
Respected Sir/Madam,

We, the undersigned citizens of Punjab and concerned members of the Punjabi community, submit this petition with an urgent request for stronger and more effective action to protect our children, families and communities.

Punjab's children deserve to grow up in a safe environment. Parents should not have to live in fear of drugs, criminal networks, kidnapping or trafficking.

We therefore call upon the Government of Punjab and Punjab Police to make the protection of children and the fight against drug trafficking a top priority.

OUR DEMANDS
1. CRACK DOWN ON DRUG TRAFFICKING
We demand:

Strong action against major drug suppliers, traffickers and organised criminal networks.
Identification and investigation of those financing and controlling drug trafficking.
Special operations in areas identified as high-risk for drug distribution.
Stronger intelligence gathering and coordination between police and relevant agencies.
Effective prosecution of serious drug-trafficking offenders in accordance with the law.
Action against the networks that recruit young people into drug distribution.
2. PROTECT CHILDREN FROM DRUGS
We demand:

Strong drug-prevention programs in schools and colleges.
Regular education for children and parents about the dangers of drugs.
Accessible counselling and rehabilitation for young people affected by addiction.
Increased policing around schools, colleges and other areas frequented by children.
Confidential reporting mechanisms for information about drug dealers.
3. TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION WHEN A CHILD GOES MISSING
We demand:

Every report of a missing or potentially kidnapped child be treated as an urgent matter.
Immediate investigation and rapid coordination between police stations and districts.
Prompt circulation of missing-child information to relevant authorities.
Improved CCTV monitoring at railway stations, bus stations, major roads and other vulnerable locations.
Faster coordination with neighbouring states when a child may have been taken outside Punjab.
4. FIGHT CHILD TRAFFICKING
We demand stronger action against organised networks involved in the exploitation and trafficking of children.

Authorities should strengthen cooperation between:

Punjab Police + Child Protection Authorities + Schools + Hospitals + Transport Authorities + Local Communities

to identify and protect vulnerable children.

5. ACCOUNTABILITY
We respectfully request regular public reporting on:

Drug-trafficking cases
Major drug seizures
Arrests and prosecutions of major traffickers
Missing-child cases
Kidnapping investigations
Children safely recovered
Child-trafficking investigations
Government programs aimed at preventing these crimes
6. PROTECT WHISTLEBLOWERS AND INFORMANTS
Citizens who provide genuine information about drug trafficking, kidnapping or child trafficking should have access to appropriate confidentiality and protection mechanisms.

People should be encouraged to report crime without fear of intimidation or retaliation.

OUR MESSAGE TO THE GOVERNMENT
Our children are not statistics.

Every missing child represents a family living through unimaginable fear.

Every young person destroyed by addiction represents a family and a community suffering.

Every drug-trafficking network allowed to operate puts more children and young people at risk.

We therefore respectfully ask the Government of Punjab to act with urgency, transparency and determination.

WE CALL FOR:
ZERO TOLERANCE FOR CHILD TRAFFICKING.
STRONG ACTION AGAINST DRUG TRAFFICKING.
FASTER RESPONSE TO MISSING CHILDREN.
BETTER PROTECTION FOR OUR CHILDREN.
GREATER ACCOUNTABILITY AND TRANSPARENCY.

We, the undersigned citizens, respectfully request that this petition be formally considered by the Government of Punjab and that meaningful action be taken to protect the people of Punjab.

WE WANT A SAFER PUNJAB FOR EVERY CHILD.
