We the parents, grandparents, and community members of Ridgefield Park, demand the Ridgefield Park Board of Education stop their quest to send Dr. Angela Bender on administrative leave. What you are attempting has no merit and no basis. The constant harassment, interference, discrimination and retaliation against her has to stop and stop now. This community fought hard and long to have Dr. Bender hired to the position of Superintendent, and we are determined to not let you destroy what we fought so hard to get. Dr. Bender took the position as Superintendent and almost immediately faced the crisis of a pandemic. She rose immediately to the occasion, providing students and staff everything they've needed to make education successful, from PPE to laptops for everyone. Every single issue that has come up she's addressed quickly and completely, including the student's social and emotional well-being during this pandemic. It would be counterproductive and even harmful to bring in a new superintendent while we are navigating new phases of this pandemic. She has gone above and beyond what was required of a superintendent, addressing everyone's needs and concerns in a timely manner. In the face of condemnation and disagreements she has put the students and staff's safety above everything else, she has ensured that every student, teacher, and staff member has been safe in our schools. Ridgefield Park has not had one case of transmission between anyone inside our buildings. Not one. While dealing with this pandemic, Dr. Bender has moved this district forward educationally. She has prepared for major changes to our children's curriculum and the conditions of where our children learn. We have lived with stagnation of our schools and our children's education has steadily declined for decades. We haven't seen this type of Administration since the 90s. You are not doing what you were elected to do. To represent this community in our schools and oversee it. You were also elected to protect the taxpayers in our Village. You are not doing that by engaging in a costly case that you cannot win. Your frivolous and personal vendetta is going to cost us an enormous amount of money that is going to come out of our pockets and more importantly your quest is going to directly impact a few thousand students, the education of our children and quash things that are in place to improve both our schools and the new innovative curriculum that's slated to happen in the fall. We will take all actions within our power to put a stop and end to this attempt, including a recall of your election as a Board Trustee. 

We have since filed and were approved for a recall election of Christopher Gibbons, Jorge Fernandez and Thomas Vercelli. The election will be held on March 8, 2021.
