The revision of IRCC's policy on the open work permits of the spouses Teer 2
Le problème
Petition for the revision of IRCC's policy on the open work permits of the spouses of workers FEER 2 and 3
For the attention of:
The Honorable Lena Metlege Diab, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship
Immigration, refugees and citizenship Canada (IRCC)
Subject: Request for review of the policy restricting the work permits open for the spouses of workers from the FEER 2 and 3 categories
We, undersigned, citizens, permanent residents, foreign workers and members of Canadian families, express our deep concern in the face of the new IRCC policy concerning eligibility for work permits open for spouses of temporary foreign workersin the professions classified Féer 2 and Faer 3.
This policy introduces an unjustified and arbitrary distinction within the FEER 2 and 3 categories, by granting access to the work permit opened only to certain trades, while excluding other occupations, however classified at the same level of competence. This measure:
creates discrimination between professions of the same level;
generates situations of prolonged family separation, affecting the mental and emotional well-being of families;
Night to social integration and financial stability of spouses excluded from this program;
goes against Canadian family reunification values.
We understand the need to manage immigration in a responsible manner, but firmly believe that this policy harms the objective of a just, human and inclusive system.
We ask by this:
The immediate revision of the policy to include all the professions of FEER 2 and 3, without discrimination between professions;
Recognition of the right to family reunification for all qualified temporary foreign workers;
Transparency in the criteria for selecting professions eligible for the program.
Together, let's protect the family unit and the integrity of the Canadian immigration system
