We are calling for the resignation of George Teal following his blatant racism toward Asian Americans. Recently, Teal accused Dr. Eiko Browning—a Japanese American citizen and leader of a progressive opposition group—of being a member of the “Chinese Communist Party.” This xenophobic rhetoric is unacceptable and has no place in our community.

We cannot stay silent. The people of Douglas County deserve leaders who act with integrity and respect for all individuals, regardless of race or background.
