The residents of Thorney Close, strongly object to Sunderland Council's application to build a half way house on the site of the former Thorney Close club. 

The site is not suitable for the proposed type of residents that will occupy the building. The residents will not accept this proposal and request the council reconsider the use of the site. 

The residents will look to arrange the possible purchase of the site and apply for community pub application, and apply government match funding to assist in the process.
