The Issue

We see the Silver Wind Queen Company trying to make a profit off of Iowans in our counties without truly disclosing the negatives that surround wind farms.

Farmers and those in our community have outlined a few of the problems we see with Wind farms going up in our area.

WIND ENERGY ISN’T A BREEZE

Silver Queen Wind Farm Project based out of Boulder, CO is slating to construct up to 100 turbines in Crawford and Carroll counties.  This project is proposing a new  230kV transmission line in Crawford County in conjunction with the wind farm. Wind Farm Companies only present the positive, they intentionally leave out the risks and are only interested in their “bottom line.”

Farmers who supported wind energy speak out on the risks and negative impact they are now enduring.

·      Lose complete control of land; farmers are responsible for lawsuit fees

·      Farmers’ fields get torn up, tile lines broken, planting seasons are delayed during construction of turbines and new transmission lines

·      Lower property value

·      Disrupts internet

·      Healthy people who were previously not sick developed the following Health      risks:  tightness in chest (heart disease) , vertigo,  panic attacks, migraines,  sleep deprivation

·      Animals:  go blind,  stop eating, get sick

·      Birds die from their lungs exploding when they fly near

·      Audubon Society says that wind farms have 30 year authorizations to kill   eagles due to turbine use.

Do your research with an open mind.

No one should have to live in the middle of an Energy Production Factory.

Wind farms have nothing to do with agriculture or farming.

What can we do?

Update:

As of March 26th, 2021 Crawford County is considering adding rules that regulate the take down of the Turbines and their surrounding disrupting structures when they have been out of operation for 180 days. This is at least SOME progress!
