To Accept Bitcoin Donations

To Accept Bitcoin Donations
The Issue
Dear ICRC,
Bitcoin (BTC) is a boarderless, secure, cheap and extreemly fast payment delivery method, and organisations like the Red Cross could benefit hugely by accepting it.
Many in the BTC community are very active and generous regarding donations to other charities that already accept BTC.
Additionally, there are many people prevented from donating via the traditional payment means which are moderated by national banks and institutions due to oppressive regiems / various situations in their countries. BTC could allow them to send funds safely.
So if the ICRC made the simple steps to incorporate BTC donations on their websites, it would open the them to a large and new audience of donors.
Also, it could be a great system for the ICRC to gather donations very qucikly when a disaster strikes unexpectedly as BTC could allow donor's funds to reach the ICRC within hours - rather than days through the traditional systems.
Finally, the ability gather donations via BTC is extreemly efficient: for example the ICRC could simply share an alert on social networks and attach a QR code image for donations. This allows others to share the picture and encourage others to simply and quicky scan it to send funds which would normally be received within minutes. Social network users are then able not only to 'like' posts, but also help to gather momentum to get more people to send funds immediately by sharing the QR code image.
Funds can also be sent in tiny amounts that is not possible via the traditional means. Many people would be likely to send a few pennies by using BTC which takes only a few seconds (similar to collection buckets), compared to taking the time to follow a weblink, sign up on ICRC website, enter card information to send a minimum of x dollars. Hopefully the potential here and the efficieny of BTC for donations is evident.
By getting as many people to sign this as possible, I hope the ICRC gives this matter due attention and hopefully the ICRC will take the simple step and start to accept BTC donations.
